The DPL Treatment

What is DPL?

Dye Pulsed Light (abbreviated DPL) describes the use of intense pulses of non-coherent light distributed over a range of wavelengths; from 400nm to 1200nm. The technology utilizes specific wavelength ranges to target various chromophores in the skin. This enables effective treatment of a broad spectrum of conditions, including vascular and pigmented lesions, skin photoaging treatments.

How Does DPL Works?

Broad spectrum pulsed light is transmitted through a continuously cooled applicator, gently placed over the skin. Cut-off filters in the handpiece change the range of wavelengths, optimizing it for different applications and skin types. The light penetrates the tissue and is absorbed by either the relevant chromophores and damages them (blood chromophores when treating vascular lesions and melanin chromophores when treating pigmented lesions).  The body’s natural processes then clear the lesion debris, giving the skin a more even and youthful appearance.

Stella M22™ Universal DPL module enables you to treat a myriad of conditions with a single, versatile handpiece.

The Universal DPL handpiece is designed with 9 ExpertFilters™ tailored to the condition being treated and computer-enabled filter recognition for enhanced safety and ease-of use. With the Universal DPL handpiece change ExpertFilters™ in seconds instead of attaching a whole new handpiece.

The Universal DPL handpiece saves not only treatment time and storage space, but is also extremely cost efficient because there is no need to purchase multiple DPL handpieces. Three SapphireCool™ lightguides, for large and small areas, maximize patient comfort with continuous contact cooling.

An DPL treatment uses high-intensity pulses of light to penetrate the skin and trigger your natural healing process for smoother, healthier, more refreshed looking skin. The IPL module uses Sapphire Cool Light Guides to provide continuous cooling to maximize patient comfort during the procedure. In addition, we use forced cold air cooling to make the experience even less painful. Finally, the DPL uses optimal pulse technology to further reduce treatment tenderness while maximizing results! The DPL module has been proven safe and effective method of minimizing the appearance of:

  • Pigmented lesions
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Vascular lesions
  • Rough skin texture
  • Spider veins
  • pores
  • Rosacea
  • Skin irregularities
  • Sun damage
